On September 3, 2017, Preston J. Cook tied the knot with the American actress Julia Stiles when she was pregnant with their first child. Julia Stiles is well known for her films Wicked (1998), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), and Down to You (2000). On the Christmas Eve of 2015, the couple got engaged at a private residence in Isla Grande, Colombia. Stiles confirmed the news of their wedding in September 2017 via an Instagram post with a caption alongside a winking face emoji, which read,
Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?”
One month after their wedding, the couple welcomed their son, Strummer Newcomb Cook.

Preston J. Cook ventured into the entertainment industry in 2001 when he appeared in the American television film ‘Strange Frequency’ in which he played the role of Terry.
Other American television films in which he appeared include Lucky 7 (2003), A Very Cool Christmas (2004), and Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber (2005). He also made brief appearances in various American television series like Special Unit 2 (2001), The Twilight Zone (2003), and Smallville (2006). From 2004 to 2009, he played the recurring role of James in the American-Canadian drama ‘The L Word.’ The series follows the lives of a small close-knit group of gay women living in Los Angeles as their friends and family support or detest them.
Before pursuing behind-the-camera work, Cook appeared in the 2012 American action horror film ‘Underworld: Awakening’ in which he played the role of Antigen Surgeon, which wasn’t credited in the film.
He began his journey as a camera assistant with the 2011 Canadian short film ‘Greasy Soul.’ Apart from working in the camera department, he also worked as an assistant director-cum-set decorator in the film.
