Michael Gregorio

Michael Gregorio is a French humorist, actor, singer, and impersonator. He is mainly known for his album En ConcertS (released November 12, 2013.)

Michael Gregorio was born in Mulhouse on June 10, 1984. His father served in Germany as a French soldier. Meanwhile, his mother decided to settle near his aunt in Rixheim. After several months, the family returned to their hometown, Pau. Pau and Étain were the places where Michael Gregorio spent his youth and adolescence. At the Perse Circus school in Verdun, he became a juggler. He has been taking acting lessons since the age of 14. He has appeared in plays such as Dorn von Horváth’s “Don Juan Returns from War” (directed by Anne-Margrit Leclerc) and “Great Fear and Misery of the Third Reich” (directed by Bertolt Brecht). He obtained his bachelor’s in theater in 2001. He also did a dubbing actor course with Jean-Marc Pannetier (Stage Director). Career

Announcing that he was going to be a Graine d’imitateur, he took part in ‘Graines de star’ on M6, which he won twice. [3]Le Figaro The musician began performing on stage at the age of sixteen with his manager, David Hardit.

The classic “90 minutes for Laughs” from 1989 (with Anthony Kavanagh, Maxime, and Bruno Salomone) was performed by him at Bercy in 2002 and 2003. This was a part of TF1’s “Coups d’amour” produced by Gérard Louvin. His first year of law (from CNED) was interrupted when he obtained a contract at the Vingtième Théâtre. [4]Le Figaro

Disclosure

A program on France 2 entitled Your Favorite Imitations brought him into contact with Laurent Ruquier in 2004. Known for his imitative performances, he composed duets with renowned singers such as Garou, Nicoletta, and Joe Cocker. He also performed at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal (2005).

His first performance at the Café de la Danse in December 2006 was extended until April 2007 with a production by Laurent Ruquier. He then toured throughout France during 2006 and 2007. Since 2006, he has participated in the Paris comedy festival, the Printemps du rire festival in Toulouse, and the Just for Laughs festival in Nantes.

His impressive directory is distinguished by its originality and eclecticism. He also enhanced great voices, including those of Luciano Pavarotti, Louis Armstrong, and Ray Charles in 2007. Rise to Fame

In En ConcertS, Michael Gregorio presents a musical and humorous theatrical spectacle composed of a mixture of new performances and original voices (Shakira, U2, Raphael, etc.). This also includes some of the classics for which he is famous (Jacques Brel, Ray Charles, etc.) In June 2013, he performed at the Trianon for the show En ConcertS (DVD release November 12, 2013) and then performed at the same location from December 18 to 31, 2013.

From October 10 to December 14, the 2008 Mont-Blanc Humor Festival in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains concluded with five sold-out shows at the Bataclan. It received a “jury’s favorite” award. 

He performed a tour of France and French-speaking countries ( Switzerland, Tunisia, etc) . After this he returned to perform at the Bataclan from 16 to December 31, 2009 in his new show Michaël Gregorio Pirate Les Chanteurs. The French television channel France 2 presented him on September 26, 2009, in a program named Vos chanteurs préférés. The program featured parodies and unexpected duets with Christophe Willem, Lara Fabian, Florent Pagny, Pascal Obispo, Grégoire, etc.

As part of the twenty-year celebration of the Montreux Laughter Festival, he hosted the opening gala.

In 2010, the team completed a sold-out tour in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Tunisia, and other French-speaking countries.

Michael Gregorio played at the Bataclan for 50 performances in 2012 with his new show, En ConcertS. En concertS incorporates a lot of new sounds and voices (Shakira, U2, Raphael, etc.) while continuing to use some of his classics (Jacques Brel, Ray Charles, etc. )

The show En Concert, captured at the Trianon in June, 2013, was released on DVD on November 12, 2013. He performed again from June 18 to December 31, 2013.

Performing for the first time at the Théâtre du Châtelet in March 2014, he is the first imitator to perform in this institution. Having a rock’n’roll version of his show with more hip-hop accents was at the center of his last performance at the Olympia in Paris in 2014. In March 2015, he presented two concerts in Paris and Lyon in his new rock ‘n’ roll version.

Michel Gregorio has given more than 320 concerts in front of more than 500,000 spectators with En ConcertS.

He appeared in the film Les Fusillée by Philippe Triboit, a television film in which he starred alongside Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet, broadcast on November 10, 2015, on France 3 (DVD release on November 17, 2015).

Once again he provided the voice for an animated film, Mune: Guardian of the Moon, (directed by Benoît Philippon and Alexandre Heboyan,) where he plays the character of Mune.

He was also a part of the cast of Malaterra, broadcasted on France 2 from November 18, 2015, alongside Simon Abkarian, Constance Dollé, Nicolas Duvauchelle, and Louise Monot.

After working with new voices in a new staging, he returned with an anniversary show in 2016 entitled “J’ai 10 ans!” [7]RTL which included highlights from each of his previous three shows. The artist was on tour throughout France in 2016 and 2017. [8]L’Est Éclair  He was at Bercy Accor Hotels Arena on December 16, 2016, and at Salle Pleyel on March 17, 2017. During the 2017-2018 school year, he performed at the Bataclan on October 18 at the Bercy AccorHotels Arena on December 21, 2017, for the last appearance of this show.

A new show entitled L’Odyssée de la Voix was presented by Michal Gregorio and his musicians in 2021.
