Facts/Trivia
- In his leisure time, Devon likes traveling and reading.
- Initially, he went to Edith Cowan University to become a drama teacher. Once, he played the role of an 80-year-old man in the play ‘The Cherry Orchard,’ and Dalip Sondhi (a drama teacher at the university) told Devon that he is best-suited to be an actor, not a teacher. Sondhi added,
There is something about you that wants to act, you can’t be here”
Devon listened to Sondhi’s advice and auditioned for NIDA.
- Devon learned to do things with his left hand and worked with a dialect coach for portraying ‘Barack Obama’ in Barry. Talking about his preparation for the role, he said,
I learned how to write and play basketball with my left hand. I naturally speak with an Australian accent, so my incredible dialect coach, Charlotte Fleck and Vikram [Gandhi], helped [me] to distinguish the accent.”
