In 1971, Christophe married his girlfriend Veronique Kan (half-sister of singer Alain Kan) (m. 1971–2020) who gave birth to their daughter Lucie Bevilacqua (Author Photographer) (b. 1971). They lived together for twenty-eight years, before finally announcing their breakup in 1999, without ever divorcing.

Career
In his mid-teens, Bevilacqua led a pop band as a rebellious teenager from the suburbs of Paris. Christophe’s first single, “Reviens Sophie”, failed in 1963, but after changing his name to Christophe, his second single, “Aline”, topped the French pop charts in 1965.
Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, he continued to enjoy success in France. His hits include the songs “Marionettes”, “J’ai entendu la mer”, “Excusez-moi Monsieur le Professeur”, and “Oh!… Mon Amour” in French and Italian. Francis Dreyfus launched the Motors label (Disques Motors) and became the producer of Christophe records in 1971, after a short break.
He returned in 1978 with “Le Beau Bizarre”. In 1983, Christophe released another single, “Succès fou”, followed by “Clichés d’amour” in 1984, a collection of classics from the 1940s and 1950s, such as “Arrivederci Roma” and “Dernier kiss”, the French version from the classic Mexican “Kiss me a lot.” His song “Ne raccroche pas” is believed to be about Princess Stephanie of Monaco. The following year, he wrote the song “Boule de flipper” for Corynne Charby.
After a break, he returned in 1996 with Bevilacqua. In 2001, he released another album entitled Comm’ Si La Terre Penchait. Christophe gave his first live concert in over two decades in Clermont-Ferrand in February 2002, followed by two performances at the Olympia in March 2002.
Thierry Amiel covered Christopher’s 1970s song “Les mots bleus” in 2003. Christophe contributed to a tribute album to Alain Bashung two years after the latter’s death. For his album Novice, he sang “Alcaline”, a song written by Bashung.
Christophe collaborated with Jean-Michel Jarre in 2016 on the album “Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise” in the song “Walking The Mile”.
He also took part in filmography. His first role was in a documentary where he played a role of himself. It was in 1998 called Autour de Vega, by Hugues Peyret. His last album was Les Vestiges du chaos (2016, Universal) while his last film was in 2014 Le Quepa sur la vilni! a film by Yann Le Quellec. He played the role of mayor of Noère.
