Career
Alice Varela: the beginnings of her career
She played her first role as the daughter of Victor de Rochevilles in the mini-series “La maison des Rochevilles” directed by Jacques Otmezguine. In this sequel, she was just ten years old. Judith Delcourt-Bertrand is also the daughter of a character played by the same actor Alexandre Brasseur, who plays Victor Delcourt-Bertrand in ‘Demain Nous Appartient’ [Tomorrow is Ours] (2015) recreated by Alice Varela. In a recent interview, the interpreter of Judith Delcourt-Bertrand clarified that the character she plays has altered a lot. She declares that she added her own individual touch to the role because of this. This is a role earlier played by two other actresses.
Alice Varela in ‘Demain Nous Appartient’ [Tomorrow is Ours] (2015)
After successfully casting for the character of Sofia Daunier-Jacob in 2018, her audition was held by the ‘Demain Nous Appartient’ [Tomorrow is Ours] (2015) team, until they brought her back to reproduce her role as Judith Delcourt-Bertrand in place of Sylvie Filloux. Varela explains that the character of the protagonist was modified after returning from the United States. This change prompted different responses from the audience as well as the character’s parents. Our actress goes on to describe that she didn’t hesitate to count her personal touch by playing the new Judith Delcourt-Bertrand. This new role of Judith Delcourt-Bertrand added suspense and curiosity to the show. She also appeared in a television series that circulated in France, Switzerland, Quebec, and Italy, among others. The character of Judith Delcourt-Bertrand, who wanted to live in the United States, had formerly been played by Coline Bellin, then by Sylvie Filloux. It was in fact the age of the first actress and her incapability to keep up with the filming that Alice Varela was brought in and a fresh cast was created.
